Founder and Owner, David Gonzalez, has more than 18 years of combined experience in private investigations, law enforcement training (United States Border Patrol), private security, lead security training instructor, NRA firearms instructor, Texas DPS Level 3 firearms instructor, process server, mental health first aid responder, Texas DPS Level 4 Personal Protection Instructor, human lie detection expert, school district administrator overseeing the law enforcement and security high school program and certified Texas Mediator.

David holds an Associates of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, Bachelors of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and a Masters of Arts Degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Texas Pan American, and an advanced certification in School Administration.

At South Texas Security Academy, we have one of the most extensive state licensed security training programs that surpasses other security training companies.

Our state board approved instructors have several decades of experience in security, law enforcement, investigations, and professional instructing to teach, instruct, and certify multiple professional security certifications for Texas state security licenses.

​Along with our certification programs, South Texas Security Academy also conducts ongoing continuing education and regular qualification reviews and testing of all Texas officers. Our courses are open to the general public on an appointment basis.
